Helena Nagagata is a multi-instrumentalist and guitarist in Brazilian metal band Sinaya.

She holds a BA in Music (Electric guitar) from Conservatório Brasileiro de Música, where she had the opportunity to take part in several projects of different musical genres, from progressive instrumental music to Brazilian music and jazz.

In 2017 and 2018, she attended two guitar camps in New York held by some of the biggest names in guitar music: John Petrucci, Guthrie Govan, Tosin Abasi, Andy James, Jason Richardson, among others, and was a student of the multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Tony Macalpine.

In 2021, she was named in Guitar World magazine as one of 30 Guitar Heroes when she was featured in an international collab video alongside some of the most accomplished female guitar and bass players, such as Nili Brosh, Courtney Cox and Gretchen Menn.

In the same year, she was invited by bassist Luis Mariutti (Shaman, ex Angra) to be a part of his video series called “Duetos” on his Youtube channel, playing one of the biggest anthems of the brazilian band Shaman.

Currently, she dedicates herself in parallel to her academic career in the Masters of Music program at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), developing research on the electric guitar.
